Open product R&D
ShowNext treats a completed season as permission to go deeper. Verified completion can unlock rare, sourced, spoiler-safe production knowledge and a permanent visual keepsake—without turning television into a competition.
Native checkpoint
Automatic metered Encore queueing, sourced multi-fact keepsakes, visual unlock ceremony, private collection, exact share preview, first-import summary, rare Series Legacy, and optional scale-specific cinematic sound.
Verified completion and a displayable cited fact are both required. Partial sync, missing sources, and future-season spoilers unlock nothing.
Focused module and iOS flows cover automatic queueing, unlock, detail, collection, sharing, Legacy, VoiceOver labels, reduced motion, and packaged audio resources. The accepted cinematic reward decision was recaptured from retained data on August 13. Older share and Legacy captures remain in historical evidence, but are no longer presented as current app views.
Thomas accepted the routine Encore, rare Legacy, and one-time Story reveal on PowerMobile. The Story cue was level-matched after the phone review and passed a final listen.
The reward loop
Every layer grows from the watched state ShowNext can actually prove.
Non-negotiables
No leaderboard, public profile, friend ranking, or social pressure.
An award settles only after the same Trakt read-back that proves watched state.
The reward is motion, artwork, collection growth, and optional local share cards—not products, tickets, discounts, or coupons.
No streaks, deadlines, hours-watched praise, or mechanics designed to make people consume more.

The routine reward
After ShowNext verifies a completed season, an eligible BYOK account queues a sourced, spoiler-safe Encore automatically. The reveal is short, skippable, replayable, and preserved as a permanent keepsake.
The reward is access, not a badge: finishing the story safely opens the door to what happened behind it.

The optional outward moment
The exact card is previewed before Apple's share sheet opens. Title and sourced fact are on by default; completion date and personal viewing insight stay off until explicitly enabled.
Sharing should celebrate the story without leaking a Trakt username, account identity, or private viewing pattern.

The rare large moment
Completing every ended standard season of a series unlocks a deliberately larger moment and opens every safe Encore for that show.
This is rare enough to earn the bigger presentation. It cannot appear for an airing show, missing catalog data, or an incomplete sourced-fact set.

Quiet bookkeeping underneath
Episodes, hours, and rewatches do not inflate progress. Ongoing seasons can be Caught Up without pretending they have ended. The old Season Mark remains an internal reversible count, not the visible reward.
We will test the curve against realistic library sizes before choosing it.

Direction recorded
Season Encore, the private share-card boundary, and the rarer Series Legacy moment remain admitted product directions. The August 9 retained-data pass protects genuine artwork, rare verified facts, automatic metered BYOK generation, durable sequential queueing, and token and estimated-cost receipts while the larger archive experience continues to be measured.
